• Simon Rous of scribblers.co.uk is the mastermind behind Rousy iron gall ink's formula. He ships me a concentrate, then I add filtered Rocky Mountain water and decant the ink into jars.
• Iron gall ink starts off as a gray tone, then it undergoes an oxidization process on your paper to turn into a gorgeous dark black.
• This ink is best for calligraphers who have a good grasp on the foundations of calligraphy. It is easy to use, but beginners might find it difficult to manage since it's so watery.
• I strongly recommend adding this ink to your collection! It's my favorite black ink ever because it adds elegance and class to any type of calligraphy.

It's the most waterproof ink that I've ever come across, and that's the reason I use it for all my projects that may come in contact with water. Here are some attributes of this ink:

• It's fantastic for projects that combine watercolor and calligraphy or illustration, like watercolor maps!
• Since it's totally waterproof, it's ideal for creating envelope calligraphy in humid areas or places that tend to get a lot of rain.
• This ink dries nice and matte, without any shine. Because of that, it tends to scan well.
