The Brause Steno nib -- also known as the "Blue Pumpkin" -- is a great nib to try out once you've mastered the Nikko G! It features:

• Capacity to hold quite a bit of ink - You can write for quite a while without having to re-dip
• Nice, medium flex that will help you achieve good stroke contrast
• Compatibility with oblique pens fitted for the Nikko G nib - If you want to use this nib with an oblique pen, this is the pen that you need

The Brause Rose nib is a beautiful high-flex nib that features an embossed rose design. Note that this nib has got some quirks, so it's not for the faint of heart! (Learn more about the Brause Rose in this article.) Here's the lowdown on this nib:

• The Brause Rose has pretty amazing stroke contrast! The high-flex tines can spread far apart to make sumptuous downstrokes.
• I find that this nib works best with fairly thin inks. Iron gall is a good choice. If you want to use it with a thick ink, try diluting the ink with a little more water than you normally would.
• Don't be discouraged if this nib doesn't play nice with you at first. After some time and experimentation, you just might fall in love!

The Brause EF66 (short for "Extra Fine 66") is a super flexible nib that's made in Germany. Don't let its tiny size fool you! It's capable of incredible stroke contrast. It's my favorite nib because:

• You don't have to exert a lot of pressure on downstrokes - the nib is very responsive!
• It works great with thick and thin inks alike. Whether you're writing with viscous Bleed Proof White or watery iron gall, this nib is wonderful!

The Nikko G is a Japanese manga nib that is ideal for all levels of calligraphers -- but they're wonderful for beginners in particular! The Nikko G nib features:

• A medium flex that is kind to calligraphers who haven't quite figured out pressure exertion.
